It started with a meltdown in aisle seven.
Back in 2019, our founder Reuben Schroeder had what he now calls his "defining hangry moment." Stuck in traffic after a 12-hour workday, he found himself yelling at his GPS. Over a missed turn. That's when it hit him: this wasn't about the traffic. He was just really, really hungry.
We've all been there.
Reuben realized he wasn't alone. Millions of people were white-knuckling their way through hunger every single day—snapping at coworkers, making poor decisions, and feeling miserable—all because they didn't have access to good snacks when they needed them most.
A simple idea with serious impact.
What if there was a kit—a real, thoughtfully designed collection of snacks—that could rescue you from those hangry moments? Not just any snacks, but actually good ones. Tasty. Satisfying. Made with real ingredients. Portable enough to keep anywhere.
From kitchen table to nationwide.
Reuben started experimenting , taste-testing hundreds of snacks and building kits for friends and coworkers. The feedback was instant: "This is exactly what I needed." Within six months, he'd quit his corporate job and Hangry Kits was born.
